A sad story this week. A cat owned by someone close to one of our adoption families had a litter of kittens two weeks ago. Unfortunately mum got run over a few days ago and it wasn't until yesterday that the kittens were found at the back of a shed where mum had hidden them. They were close to dying of starvation by that stage, and sadly only 3 of them have survived so far.

We were contacted and arranged for the kittens to be taken to a vet nearby, who is going to foster them until they can be weaned, meanwhile neutering them and giving them the required shots at a generous discount.

So, if you are wanting a kitten, bookmark this page. One has already been adopted, leaving these two females.

Serendipitous is not a word I would use often, but it perfectly describes what happened yesterday.

Just before lunch I received an email from a couple offering to foster any dogs needing a short term home. Then a couple of hours later another email arrived asking our help finding a foster home for their dog for a few weeks. That had to be the simplest and quickest fostering we have ever done.

I can only wish fostering and adopting out pets could be that quick all the time.
