about us

If you love animals you are invited to support the work of the Animals S.O.S. Trust.

*Please note that donations over $5 are tax deductable. Receipts will be issued for these donations.

The trust is a 'watchdog' registered Charitable Society with a dual purpose - to act on behalf of animals and birds to defend them and protect their rights, and to safeguard them from abuse.

It sets out to educate the public in the welfare of animals and birds, promoting responsible ownership, and appropriate desexing of pets to avoid uncontrolled breeding.

The Trust stands against unnecessary euthanasia of unwanted animals, and when necessary, tries to find temporary homes until permanent rehoming can be organised for animals threatened in this way.

The Trust is seeking volunteers to assist in its programme of pet fostering and pet therapy.

If you are able to help either by donation or in a practical way, please contact us at:

PO Box 17014, Karori, Wellington or phone (04) 934 4864

Terms and Conditions
for using the Animals SOS Trust Services:

  • As the first step to re-homing an animal via the Animals SOS Trust, we require a recent photo to promote on our website. Please send a photo of your pet to: Animals SOS Trust, PO Box 17014, Karori, Wellington.
  • Please note we do not have shelter facilities. It is preferable that animals are kept in their home environment until they are rehomed. In expectional circumstances we will attempt to foster animals with our volunteers.
  • If an adult animal needs to be de-sexed, this will be done prior to re-homing at either the current owner's or new owner's expense.
  • Dog registration is required by law and is the responsibility of the new owner.
  • A donation to Trust would be appreciated for our assistance in rehoming
